Still Standing

Oh the stories this canon could tell if it was able to speak. Can you imagine how many men it witnessed die a horrible death. Today, we would never leave our weapons on the battlefield, we would either retrieve them or destroy them so they do not fall into the enemies hands. Thankfully for history buffs, they left their weapons in place mostly when the battle ended in 1863.

Homeland Security

Spent the morning walking my camera around Adams County and came across this view on the battlefield in Gettysburg. I couldn't help but wonder, how different the battle of Gettysburg may have gone had it been fought in January verses July. I would guess the outcome the same with the north winning, but would it have been as bloody?

A Boy And His Olaf

Adam wanted a picture of himself and his Olaf. He just walked away from the family picture and stood....waiting!

I Can Hear It !

Big brother Jake listens to his mommy's belly with a stethoscope hoping to hear his soon to be baby brother or sister. Only a few more weeks until the baby makes it's debut.

Discovery In All Her Beauty

We took a day trip during the Christmas holiday to the Smithsonian Institute Air & Space Museum's newest exhibit located in Chantilly Virginia. The main attraction is of course is NASA's most traveled Space Shuttle Discovery. While in operation, Discovery flew over 150 million miles around Earth. 

Holiday Decorations

Our Christmas tree is adorned with quite a few ornaments from places we have traveled through from around the country and abroad. 

It's nice to decorate each year and remember each trip with a flashback moment and smile as the tree is beautifully decorated one month each year.  

Of course, the tree is full of just cutesy ornaments we have collected over the past nineteen years as well. Our tree also has our first two beloved dogs we had for many years and sadly lost to old age. 

Puravida vs. JD

Lori's new obsession in the fashion world, Puravida bracelets. Now, why I chose to place them on a Jack Daniels bottle for the picture, I can not tell you. Just did!
